Woolly Bugger

Probably the most productive fly pattern on the Guadalupe River, the Woolly Bugger imitates small bait fish and large nymphs. Fish deep and slow by casting quarter upstream and letting it sink before slowly retrieving with four inch strips. Add 2-3 BB split shot to really get it down. Many times the trout will hit violently on the swing at the end of the drift. Better use 4X tippet!
